WBJEE2018:Important Dates,Eligibility Criteria,Qualification,Age Limit


The West Bengal joint entrance examination is conducted under the guidance of The west Bengal joint entrance examination board, was established in 1962 by the government of West Bengal which conducts the Joint Entrance Examination for the admission in various institutions in West Bengal imparting education in Medical, Engineering and Technological courses . The Board conducts a Common Entrance Examination for admissions to professional and vocational courses both in the Undergraduate and Post-graduate level. For the academic session of 2018-19, the Board is going to conduct the Common Entrance Examination for admission to Undergraduate Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture Courses in Universities, Government Colleges as well as Self-financing engineering and Technological colleges in the state of West Bengal.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

 The candidates who wish to apply for the WBJEE should come under the Eligibility Criteria,  the candidate should be an Indian Citizen. 

AGE Limit:

The candidates are hereby informed that the lower age limit is 17 (seventeen) years as on 31.12.2018. A candidate should have been born on or before 31.12.2001. There is no upper age limit to appear in the WBJEE-2018 however, the admission to the degree level marine Engineering course. The lower limit is 17 (seventeen) years as on 31.12.2018 and the upper age limit is 25 years as on 31.12.2018. 

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:  

a)The  Candidates should have passed the 10+2  or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application, the candidates should  have passed compulsory subjects with individual pass marks in both theory and Practical
b) The candidates Must have obtained at least 45% marks, for the candidates belonging to the reserved category the candidates must have obtained 40 in the above three subjects taken together 

c) The candidates should note that passing in  English in the ‘10+2’ examination with at least 30% marks is mandatory. 

d) The candidates are hereby informed that 10+2 Board examination / Qualifying Examination should be from recognized board.
